Label Planet Launches New STIKINS® Name Labels
Jun 30, 2010Label Planet Limited, a leading UK supplier of name labels, launched a new type of name labels that simply sticks into clothes and a supporting website.
Widely regarded as one of the best name labels providers in the UK, Label Planted Limited recently released its new range of name labels. Officially announced on the company's blog on June 9th, the product release was accompanied by the launch of a new website exclusively for name label products.
The new product is a multi-purpose adhesive label that can be stuck on to the wash care label of garments, and also used for other school items. Called New Stikins, the product is made of an advanced vinyl polymer and can be used for a variety of purposes and it does not need to be sewn in or ironed on, saving thousands of parent hours in the UK.
The New Stikins has been tested using the stringent BS EN ISO6330 testing standards. Tests by an independent laboratory have demonstrated that the label is capable of retaining its adhesiveness and readability for at least 30 washes at 40 degrees Celsius. This is higher than the water temperature range used by most washing machines in a hot-wash cycle.
The Stikins® brand name is well-established with the earlier product, called the Stikins® Original. The Original range has been in the market since 2003, and is used by tens of thousands of parents. As opposed to the Original product which consisted of an assortment of labels, the New Stikins product is one multi-use label.
The breakthrough in creating this powerful adhesive bond allows the new Stikins to be applied to the wash care labels in clothing, with no need for the conventional “H” shape. The simple shape also means that it can be used for several applications other than clothing name labels.
However, the Stikins Original will continue to be available, because Label Planet realise that some of its customers will want to buy the product they are used to.
The New Stikins are particularly useful as school name labels. In school environments where kids may have items that are very similar, it is easy to lose belongings. A simple label that is resilient enough to withstand 30 washes, can easily overcome the problem of mistakenly exchanged bags, jerseys and other things.
In addition to being washable, the New Stikins range can also be tumbled dried and microwaved, with no adverse effects. In fact, according to Label Planet Limited, the heat from a tumble drier will actually strengthen the adhesive glue used in the product. The vinyl material also withstands microwaving and dishwashing, so the label may also be used on lunch boxes or other dishes.
Label Planet Limited offers free shipping and delivery of all its products, including the Stikins range as well as their other general purpose metallic stickers. At present, ordered products are shipped within three days but they will be producing labels every weekday using a new automated system and despatching them first class post every evening. This means that many parents will receive their labels next day which is the fastest service in the UK.
New Stikins® Means One Less “Back-to-school” Worry for Parents
Jul 26, 2010
It’s almost that time of year again already - the kids are coming home for their summer holidays and then the chaos begins!
It may seem like an eternity away, but how much time do we actually have these days to prepare our children for the next year at school? Between holidays, work, housekeeping and finding a moment in the day for ourselves (if only!), buying new school uniforms, shoes, stationery and bags really can be a nightmare.
There is, however, one less thing to worry about this year: a new breakthrough product has arrived to ease our school name labelling stress. New Stikins® name labels sold directly from name-labels.com and developed by Label Planet Ltd are a product of an industrial breakthrough in the adhesives and materials industry. The labels simply stick on to the wash care label of a garment and stay attached, even in the washing machine.
The labels also stick to more or less anything your child may lose - pens, bags, shoes, books, mobile phones, anything. They are also as soft and pliable as woven name tags, but without the hassle of having to actually sew anything in, and unlike iron on labels, they are resilient during wash cycles.
Label Planet company director David Worgan said “Even we are surprised by the rate at which New Stikins® are selling in the UK and in America, this really is the future of school name labelling.”
